Soccer Tips : How to Coach a Ball Control Drill in Kids’ Soccer
Hand me down undergarments?
My husband works with a guy whose wife takes care of needy children. These kids are 5 yrs and younger. Some of the kids literally have NO shoes and come to her care wearing slippers, or one child had soccer cleats on for regular shoes. For the past few months we’ve been giving away all of our 4 yr old’s clothes that no longer fit. I was just going through a bunch of her clothes, and I came across a bunch of underwear that no longer fit her. They are all clean and stainless, and in excellent condition, but would it be too tacky to give those away as well?
Like I said, these kids don’t even have shoes so I’m thinking hand me down underwear would help out these families (plus toddler underwear is expensive!), but then on another note I personally would not want someone to give me hand me down underwear for my child.
What’s your opinion on this? Give them away, or toss them?
Give them to her, the worst she can do is toss them away herself but even if she does I’m sure she’d understand why you did it. If I was in her situation then I’d accept them gladly, like you say they are all clean etc so I don’t see the problem, just bunch them in with a pile of other stuff and let her decide, I’m sure she’ll be grateful.
Does it seem like soccer aficionados speak a language all their own? It sure seems like it to me, and I’ve been playing the game for over 20 years. I put an article on the front page of this blog to help explain the most common soccer terms in plain English. Hopefully this list will help soccer moms everywhere (and soccer dads too, for that matter)to better understand what their little athlete is talking about! Click Here For Access: Soccer Terms.
