Are you a seasoned soccer mom? If so, then you are sure to have oodles of pictures of your children giving it their all on the local team. A great way to record all those great memories is to begin scrapbooking soccer pages.

A scrapbook is a great way to not only document certain moments in your child’s life, it’s a great way to let your child express their love of the sport. An often overlooked part of the scrapbooking process is the pictures that are used. Most likely, you are also the one taking the photos of your little one. It can be really great to begin with the idea of really capturing your child in the moments they do not know you are there and using those in the scrapbook pages.

Scrapbooking soccer pages in particular allows for some creative poses. Think about trying to photograph your athlete from behind as this will also show the game from their line of sight. You could also try taking pictures from higher up, looking down on the game or from the ground. The idea is to be creative in how you take the pictures so that they really tell a story. If you are lucky (and patient!) then it is very possible that you will catch your child in a pose that more than shows their feelings and tells a story of its own. When that happens, all you really need to do is showcase the photo and add a caption. If you end up with a great story-telling photo, let it shine with a simple layout

Soccer camps are also great for taking pictures of your child learning to do new things. Take the opportunity to get some great shots from the sidelines as he or she learns to kick, dribble, block, head the ball, etc. These are awesome chances to get a nice clear shot of just the one child, as there are usually not very many kids being instructed at one time in a particular exercise. Scrapbooking soccer pages like this can be grouped into a square using four photos at a time. You can crop the individual photos and then arrange them into a square or rectangle. Then you can use narrow border materials or stickers to hide the overlap. The header or a wide side boarder can then be used to announce the event or explain the pictures.

If you would like to give the scrapbooks as gifts to grandparents, godparents or other family members, here is a great tip: If you are time constrained or created a great book and are not sure about being able to duplicate it – then consider taking the book to your local copy shop. Many can make color copies of layouts for less than the cost of the materials to create a duplicate book. Now you can make one album for your own family and photocopy it for use as a gift, saving you time and money!

Remember: a photo is worth a thousand words and your child will surely let you know how their game or camp went with the click of your camera. Capture those moments and then use them for scrapbooking soccer pages to keep the memories alive.

How do you feel about “honor student bumper stickers”?!?!?

Aren’t they annoying. You’re driving and you see “My 13yo is on the honor roll weeeee!!” or “My son plays for such and such soccer team”. Then your driving and thinking of your own bumper sticker. Imagining it would say “Who gives a _____ about your honor student” or “Yes my car is crap” lol.

beyond annoying.

Does it seem like soccer aficionados speak a language all their own? It sure seems like it to me, and I’ve been playing the game for over 20 years. I put an article on the front page of this blog to help explain the most common soccer terms in plain English. Hopefully this list will help soccer moms everywhere (and soccer dads too, for that matter)to better understand what their little athlete is talking about! Click Here For Access: Soccer Terms.
