Real Salt Lake – the Mls Surprise Team During the First Half of the Season
Now that we are in the middle of the MLS Season the Real Salt Lake club has become the team that has brought in many surprises specially if we look at last year’s stats of only six wins in total. For the moment, the club remains undefeated at home and after their Saturday’s win of 2 to1 over Columbus they grabbed the first position in the Western Conference for the first time in the franchise’s history.
During the first months of this season many predicted another awful year but for the 2007 campaign the team’s managers made a huge change in the coaching viewpoint and added as part of the coaching staff former player Jason Kreis.
Coach Kreis was given the task to change the mentality of the team and has been able to switch the results around in a short period of time. “I think they see that I’m passionate about what I do,” Kreis alleged of his present group of players who he acknowledged the majority have played with him or against him at some point. “They know to expect hard work every day in training and I expect the sessions to be extremely competitive as the game on the weekend.”
Before Kreis’ arrival to the team their mentality was dull and they had no direction basically a very solid lack of focus and the team continuously struggled in a search to better their status. Therefore; he decided to reform the team during the offseason, focusing in team-oriented style, a winning philosophy, a mindset of early freshness and confidence on each one of them as well as their teammates.
“When I first came out here, at the halfway point of last season, Jason told us we are 0-0-0 in the second half of the season,” said team captain Kyle Beckerman, “Winning is a habit and so is losing.”
Another important fact is that most players were not part of last term’s campaign. This is indeed a fresh and innovated group with a clear goal and more aggressive direction.
At the starting of the season, the gap which was required to be fulfilled was the loss of the striker Eddie Pope, who retired last season. However; with Eddie Pope, the team only managed 48 goals last season, the second worst record in the league.
“Coming into the pre-season, I knew the history of the team. When I played in Colorado, we used to come into Rice-Eccles Stadium and beat up on these guys,” said Nat Borchers.
Moreover, the club has been able to unite the speed of Robbie Findley and the size of Kenny Deuchar. Both players have so far produced the flow of goals expected. Coach Kreis and Beckerman agree that Deuchar will only improved as the Scot inhabited into the league. “It’s been an adjusting period for him, after playing in Scotland and a little bit in England. I think in America, the defense is a lot different than he is used to,” said Beckerman.
Even with all the adjustments and changes, physical and psychological, the major acquirement has been the Argentine player Javier Morales, who has settled and has shown his talent in the league with his versatility and skillful way to assist and control the ball.
“I think we’ve had a good first half of the season, but certainly not great and not 100 percent successful,” said Kreis. “We can do more as a team that will make us better for the second half of the season.”
The team now awaits for a second part of the season full of new challenges which they will encounter in the coming months but the team is ready to take to cup home his year.

Any ideas on how to start my philosophy essay?
DIG INTO something you really care about – sports, fashion, engineering, dogs, cooking… whatever you have a passion for – a show me in five or so pages that you can understand it with some philosophical depth when it comes to the ethics involved. Need at least five quotes from respected thinkers to back your ideas up.
I love reading, watching soccer, music and my mom.
I have about 4 books on Aristotle, Socrates and Plato.
This is my final essay on philosophy. I am taking this class online and my professor is not in town. Could someone please give me some ideas on how to write my paper.
I would start with looking through your books on Aristotle, Socrates and Plato and seeing if anything there speaks to you. Think about the things you’re passionate about and see if anything in your books resonates with it.
When you’re stuck, just keep writing. Then edit later. Let your thoughts flow and just write.
You may also want to speak with your professor if you’re having trouble to make sure you’re on the right track.
Does it seem like soccer aficionados speak a language all their own? It sure seems like it to me, and I’ve been playing the game for over 20 years. I put an article on the front page of this blog to help explain the most common soccer terms in plain English. Hopefully this list will help soccer moms everywhere (and soccer dads too, for that matter)to better understand what their little athlete is talking about! Click Here For Access: Soccer Terms.
