How Playing Soccer Can Improve Your Fitness Levels

Soccer is one of the most popular and widely played team sports in the world. The reason it is so popular is because it is great fun to play and it is an effective form of cardiovascular fitness training. The great thing about soccer fitness training is that it will give your upper and lower body a really good work out. It is a form of exercise that targets the body all over including your thighs, calves, abdomen, buttocks and cardiovascular system.

If you are keen to learn more about soccer and the training involved then check out your local area for a football club as they can involve you in their training sessions. If you become really good at playing you will have a good chance to play for the local team.

If you are serious about soccer then it is a good idea to get kitted out with the right gear and equipment. What you need to buy is a tournament sized football, shin pads, a net, a football jersey and shorts, football boots with screw in studs and if you want to save goals, a good pair of goal keeper gloves.

As with any form of exercise or sports make sure you do a 10 to 15 minute warm up session before you play. The warm up sessions will stretch your muscles and help to reduce the risk of you getting an injury like a strained hamstring. Before you start to play invite your friends to join in. Preferably, you should have 11 players on each team including 2 goal keepers. If this is not possible a 5 a-side team will do just fine.

After having a good warm up session it is now time to play. Basically, each team member takes up certain positions on the pitch to play. This can be divided into 3 specific areas as follows, defenders, midfielders and forward attackers. The last group is the guys who score the goals.

When you have picked your team and position you can start the game. If you are a defender your role is to stop the opposing team from scoring goals into your teams net. This position requires a lot of running, and jumping which will give your thighs and buttocks a really good workout.

As it is a team sport you will need to master the skill of passing the ball accurately, creating space as well as tackling the players on the opposing team. By learning to pass the ball you will be able to leverage the area on the pitch more effectively and therefore, increasing your chances of scoring a goal.

Soccer requires a lot of stamina as you will be running, sprinting and jumping in the air and this makes it one of the most effective cardiovascular fitness training activities you can do.

I got a soccer trial invitation from a scout in englnad to go practice with real profecional teams and coaches?

I got an invitation from a scout in England to go for soccer trial and have the opportunity to play with profecional soccer teams, and be trained by profecional coaches. This is a great opportunity for me. But i ‘am not sure if i can go since i dont have a US passport and i am illegal in the United States. Does anyone know if i can go somehow? Maybe some kind of special passport. I just have to pay a good afordable amount wich will cover for the attorney lawyer

iif the scouts are really interseted in you tell them to help you out with that, and i believe if your going there for bussiness then your allowed, good luck

Does it seem like soccer aficionados speak a language all their own? It sure seems like it to me, and I’ve been playing the game for over 20 years. I put an article on the front page of this blog to help explain the most common soccer terms in plain English. Hopefully this list will help soccer moms everywhere (and soccer dads too, for that matter)to better understand what their little athlete is talking about! Click Here For Access: Soccer Terms.
