U8 Select Soccer Coaching?
I am a parent coach of a U7 Rec soccer team. I played soccer for a long time growing up, but that was long ago. This coming fall season I will be coaching the U8 Select team. I am already scheduled to get my E License and take the Youth Module, but I am looking for some more information.
The problem is, everything I can find online or in books about U8 soccer coaching is designed for the Rec player, not the Select level player.
Anyone know of good resources that I can use in the off season to make sure that we don’t get murdered on the pitch in the fall?

There are many training videos on line and in soccer magazines. They will help tremendously in tactics and strategies. At first, your players will be just rec players. You will need to take them to a higher level faster. You will be playing under 8 teams, so they will have a year on you…. so that first year can be a ‘character building’ year!
Have fun…. and make it fun for them! Year one, you might be chumps playing up. But, year two you can shine!
