More about Soccer Balls and Soccer Goals

The ultimate of playing Soccer Game is to score more goals then your opposite side i.e., your contestant. It is basic rule in soccer game that the goal is scored by kicking the Soccer ball across the goal line which results in scoring more number of points. A regulated soccer goal measures 8′ high by 24′ wide and has a net attached to the back of the goal to catch the ball.

There are seventeen laws in the official laws for soccer game. The same laws are designed to apply to all levels of football, although certain modifications for groups such as juniors, seniors, women and the physically challenged are permitted.

A goal must be placed on the center of each goal line. A goal consists of two upright posts equidistant from the corner flag posts and joined at the top by a horizontal crossbar. The goalposts and crossbar must be made of wood, metal or other approved material. They may be square, rectangular, round or elliptical in shape and must not be dangerous to players. The distance between the posts is 7.32 m (8 yds) and the distance from the lower edge of the crossbar to the ground is 2.44 m (8 ft).

The  Soccer balls is: Spherical made of leather or other suitable material having a circumference of not more than 70 cm (28 INS) and not less than 68 cm (27 INS). Weighing not more than 450 g (16 oz.) and not less than 410 g (14 oz.) at the start of the match. The Soccer Balls must have a pressure equal to 0.6 – 1.1 atmosphere (600 – 1,100 g/cm2) at sea Level (8.5 lbs/sq in – 15.6 lbs/sq in)

How to play this Soccer game is

The Soccer players can only use their feet, body or heads to pass and to attempt to score and in this Soccer game the players are not supposed to use their hands. The players cannot catch or throw the  soccer balls using or even knock down a pass using their hands. The goal-keepers are the only players in the game who are allowed to use their hands in Soccer game. They can use their hand while protecting the goal by either blocking or holding the ball. While throwing the ball back out into the pitch the goal-keeper can use their hands or to execute a drop kick sending the ball far down the field

By-law soccer team has 11 players on the field at any one time. The team normally consists of a goal keeper; three or four escorts possibly a fullback, a stopper or a sweeper. Three or four midfielders who play an outside right position, an outside left position and a center midfield position. And two or three forward playing right left and center positions. Depending on the age of the other players there may be fewer than 11 players many youth leagues will play only five or seven players at a time.

The soccer ball is moved by the offensive team down the field through the use of drooling and passing the ball by a series of kicks to other team members towards the opposing teams’ goal. The object is to serve the ball into point to permit the forwards to make a challenge on the goal. Defensive players try to take the ball away from the offensive team by snooping with the offensive player, trying to hit loose the ball or by catching passes made by the offensive team members. Each player basically can play either an offensive or defensive role on the field depending on the action.

The offensive player tries to resist the defensive player through drooling skills and by passing. An offensive player who has remarkable ball management skills places their body between the defensive player and themselves to maintain control of the ball while moving it down field towards the opponent’s goal.

Plays are intended and performed to put the offensive players in position to attempt shots on goal for the attacking team. Team’s members must put themselves into positions on the pitch to be able to obtain passes and to further move the ball downfield to attempt a shot on goal.

Soccer Players can be called for penalties for holding or for purposely bad gracing or dashing an opponent. Pulling the opposing player to the ground or holding may result in penalties.

The Soccer game is ended when time runs out and the team with the most goals scored is the winner. A regulation game is of 90 minutes long with two 45 minute halves. The exact time left in a game is known only to the officials as time may be added to the game based to make up for stoppage during the game.

Soccer ball i bought from target died the same day. Can i return it?

I bought a soccer ball yesterday from target. I thought it would last a month or so, but the thing is nearly dead as the black nylon is showing. I played with it today lightly so at least it doesnt pop. Can i return this shit back? No way I’m buying anything from target again.

No you can’t. It is ruined and anyway.

Does it seem like soccer aficionados speak a language all their own? It sure seems like it to me, and I’ve been playing the game for over 20 years. I put an article on the front page of this blog to help explain the most common soccer terms in plain English. Hopefully this list will help soccer moms everywhere (and soccer dads too, for that matter)to better understand what their little athlete is talking about! Click Here For Access: Soccer Terms.
