Im a goalkeeper and my soccer season is about to start up again and I need help pleaseee!!!!!!!?

Okay so I’m 16 years old and my football season is about to begin within the next two weeks. I’m a goalkeeper and hold myself at a great level. I’m very nervous though because I have excelled greatly in the division i was in which was good, but now we are heading into a very prestige league which only accepts the best teams. I’m afraid of not being good enough even though I know I’m an excellent keeper my stomach does backflips everytime i think about it. Any suggestions on how I should prepare against these very good teams?

Also I am buying all new gear,
I think I’m going to get the Adida Copa Mundial…good choice?

And finally I’m buying new gloves and I have no idea what kinda I should get. I’ve heard Uhlsport and Adidas were great…and if you could let me know any specific gloves from those brands or any other reliable brand (NO NIKE) then that would be great.

Sorry for all my questions I’m just pretty nervous just anyone help please!

The gear doesn’t matter…. its not going to change anything, just because you have the best stuff doesn’t mean you are going to do well. With all sorts of gear you should buy the one that is most comfortable, go and try and couple of different pairs and whichever you are most comfortable in, is the one you need.

The best way to prepare is by training hard, there is no other way. Two weeks isnt enough, you should have good sessions every time you train.

Does it seem like soccer aficionados speak a language all their own? It sure seems like it to me, and I’ve been playing the game for over 20 years. I put an article on the front page of this blog to help explain the most common soccer terms in plain English. Hopefully this list will help soccer moms everywhere (and soccer dads too, for that matter)to better understand what their little athlete is talking about! Click Here For Access: Soccer Terms.
