Ten Golden Rules – Dating Tips For Guys Who Want to Be a Girl Magnet

When it comes to dating, there are no hard and fast rules. It is as unpredictable as a soccer match: it’s anyone’s game. But like a soccer match, there are winners and losers in the dating arena too. The following “Ten Golden Rules” are hard and fast do’s and don’ts that will help you score a touchdown in the heart of the woman of your dreams.

1. Do be a gentleman.
Chauvinism may be dead, but chivalry better not be. Feminist or not, all women want a good, true-blue gentleman. This man may not always be opening doors or pulling chairs for his lady (although that would be nice too!), but he is ready to do anything in his power to ensure her comfort and safety. Women like men who care enough for them to show it, so

2. Do try to look presentable.
Here’s the deal. It takes an average woman at least an hour to prepare herself for a date. It would only be fair if a man would, at the very least, take the effort to put a clean collar on. How you present yourself not only tells your date what kind of person you are, but also shows that you respect enough to make sure she’s not seen in public with someone who looks like he just rolled out of bed.

3. Do make an effort to smell good.
Please. No one likes to be with someone who smells bad. Women love it when men, at the very least, smell like laundry soap and not old gym socks. Enough said.

4. Do show your ambition.
Cliché as it may seem, women are drawn to men who exude a sort of stability or direction in life. Tell your date about your job, your realistic dreams (stress on the word “realistic”) and ambitions. Ladies appreciate guys with drive and motivation as opposed to “cruisers” floating about like buoys in the waters of life.

5. Do put your cell phone on silent mode.
Nothing dampens chemistry or conversation more than a text message beep or a call every five minutes. That why cell phones have silent modes: so you can concentrate on your beautiful date. And don’t even think of replying to that text message, unless you want your date to think you’d rather be somewhere else.

6. Don’t monopolize the conversation.
Don’t spend the whole evening recounting last night’s soccer match to your date. Ask her to tell you about herself and listen intently when she does. Unless you want to come across as a self-absorbed blockhead, give her a chance to speak.

7. Don’t invite your date to a burping contest.
Save the fascination with making gross noises for nights out with the boys. If you want a goodnight kiss from a woman, then don’t act like a twelve-year-old boy.

8. Don’t look at or talk about other girls while on a date.
A woman does not go on a date to hear about other women. So don’t check out other girls or bring up your ex. Keep your eyes on the prize.

9. Do pay for the bill.
If she insists to half, then do so. But it’s always good to offer to pay first.

10. Do call if you said you would.
Be a man of your word. It shows good character. And it always pays to be a gentleman.
