Shooting a Soccer Ball- Instructional Video

Knowledge and application of knowledge are two different – though connected – realms. The offside law is complex to those who do not take the time to study it. Knowing the offside law in soccer is only part of the problem. Judging offside in soccer is even more difficult. However, once you adhere to these seven tips, judging offside would be a bit easier.
1) Know the law in depth
The worst thing you can do whilst running the line is make basic errors due to ignorance. Basic errors that can be avoided due to knowledge of the law include flagging offside:
i) When the ball is received directly from a throw, corner or goal kick.
ii) When the ball is received from a deliberate or controlled play by the defender
iii) When the attacker was in his own half.
The IFAB has indicated that an attacker can be offside if as much as a foot or forehead is positioned behind the defensive line. It is easy to be deceived into thinking that the attacker is level if you do not know this.
2) Keep in line with the last defender or the ball, whichever is closer to the defending team’s goal line.
Maintaining a proper position throughout the game ensures that the assistant referee has a better line of sight. If the ball is ahead of the defence, you must keep in line with the ball to judge whether the ball is going out of play or to be in position to make an offside call if the attacking team is in possession.
3) Read the game
You should anticipate when the ball is going to be played and whether the defending team is using an offside trap. Some strikers deliberately play very close to the defensive line. All of these things should be noted as it will prevent you from being caught flat-footed.
4) Use the wait and see approach
Being hasty to make a decision can result in the wrong decision being made. It is true that you do not necessarily have to wait until the player who was in an offside position in the decisive moment to play the ball. However, another teammate may have a better chance of getting the ball. It is better to wait to see for sure, since you may think that the offside player was closer to the ball that he really was. Waiting also enables you to replay the image of the offside line at the moment the ball was played for tight decisions.
5) Don’t suffer from myopia
Keep as much of the play within view. It is easy to become preoccupied with maintaining correct positions and watching the line that you miss the attacker close to you who sped down the flank in a blur when the ball was played. You have to multi-task effectively and remain aware of player positions to avoid being blindsided.
6) If in doubt, keep your flag down
Some may tell you otherwise, but the law indicates that you should keep you flag down if in doubt. Given that an attacker can commit an offside offence by having any part of his body except his hand centimetres ahead of the defence, the call must be a really tight one if you aren’t sure. On the other hand, maybe you were out of position and didn’t see. Don’t make the call because you were caught out and figured that the player must be offside because he’s ahead of the defence moments after the ball was played.
7) Don’t allow others to decide for you
Ignorant team officials and spectators will be making calls behind you. In most cases they do not know the law and certainly cannot apply it. Do not allow them to influence your decisions, particularly with tight calls. Your decision on the line must remain your own.
It is important to anticipate having to speed down the line if the attacking team breaks forward. Positioning is the most fundamental aspect of judging offside while speed is something that can help you keep up with counter attacks. Once you keep these tips in mind, judging offside would still be difficult but certainly not daunting.

Soccer has played an important roll to all humankind throughout the history. Africans, Europeans, and children who lose their hopes are unified into one with soccer. Still, many African children practise soccer day by day to shoot the ball into the net of hope. Soccer is everything to them. Through soccer, many Africans earn money to support their families and satisfy their hunger. Furthermore, children discover hope to fulfill their expectations that God has created for. Soccer is a widespread yet the most popular sport because people of all ages and both sexes can learn the basic rules, only equipment is a round ball, and it is exciting.
thank you for revising and adding what ever necessary thing i need in order to have a powerful introduction
Here try this:
Soccer has played an important role throughout the history of mankind. Africans, Europeans, and children whose hopes seem lost become unified as one with soccer. Many African children practice soccer day by day as if to shoot the ball into the net of hope. Soccer is everything to them. Through soccer, many Africans earn money to support their families and satisfy their hunger. Furthermore, Soccer allows children to discover hope in a religious way. They believe that they can fulfill the expectations God has created for them. Soccer is a widespread and popular sport because people of all ages and both sexes can learn the basic rules. Soccer is as exciting as it is easy to play, the only equipment is a round ball.
Hope this helps!!
Does it seem like soccer aficionados speak a language all their own? It sure seems like it to me, and I’ve been playing the game for over 20 years. I put an article on the front page of this blog to help explain the most common soccer terms in plain English. Hopefully this list will help soccer moms everywhere (and soccer dads too, for that matter)to better understand what their little athlete is talking about! Click Here For Access: Soccer Terms.
